Objective
Bromleys have been a supplier of quality art materials for the last 70 years. In recent decades, the brand has mostly remained untouched, therefore a new identity portraying a more modern, polished and consistent image was required. It needed to differentiate from the competition in a way that resonated with target audiences across all age brackets, whilst engaging with it’s current loyal customer base.
Approach
Maintaining the essence of nostalgia, direction from classic cinematic influences was sought. Pre-technology special effects and type treatment were combined with a modern-day influence.

An up to date interpretation on retro styling proved to be a perfect solution for this celebratory festival. In addition to the introduction of the FFF initials, a wordmark using film headline inspired-type and a movie ticket logo were crafted for diversity. A trio of hero beasts that represent the three areas of film genre predominantly featured at the festival were introduced. A bright colour palette was selected and the new brand was rolled out to enthusiastic attendees.
